One skein hand knitting pattern for rainy day knitting -

Dodging Rain Drops Cowl designed by Vanessa Ewing

Eyelet holes gradually become more frequent as you knit this cowl. Just like the start of a rain storm, see if you can dodge the little droplets!
This pattern utilizes double yarn overs to produce the perfect sized eyelet holes. When going back to work these holes, you will be dropping the extra strand of yarn, as to prevent an increase from occurring. Simply purl into the first strand of yarn and drop the second.

Approximate Finished Dimensions: 27” circumference x 18” long

Materials
385—yards of a fingering weight yarn, we used Malabrigo Sock (440yds/100G skein 100% Merino wool).
- US Size 4 (3.5mm): 24” circular needle
- 1 stitch marker.

Gauge
21.5 sts, 27 rows = 4” in garter stitch in the round (k 1 round, p 1 rounf) on US Size 4 (3.5mm) needle after blocking.
I “wet blocked” the cowl so that the stitches relaxed and made a very drapey cowl. To ensure your cowl will be the same as ours, see the “Finishing” section on how to wet block.
